One of my favorite shots every year is on the 8th night of Hanukkah.
The candles look beautiful surrounded by our Christmas Tree, stockings, Gingerbread house, candy canes etc..........
This year Noah really was involved singing the blessings each night and truly understanding that a small army battled a large army to take the Temple back so the people could worship God. He also loves the Shamesh or Servant candle and how that represents Jesus - the servant we see that gets his light from another source (God) and how he has come to serve and save us.
These days Hill is just so happy ALWAYS... I am so greatful. NO terrible twos just moments of MINE. and he quickly will change his tune to "I share"!
We are not believers in the terrible twos!!!! Claiming that we will truly enjoy this two year old.

Dont Even...
No comments or questions as to why I havent blogged since August! But I am back....
It is after Thanksgiving and Christmas, we still are bringing out something we havent played with from under the tree, still enjoying cookies and reindeer munch and of course Jesus birthday cake.
It was a sweet time this year with no out of town guests. I had to stop myself often from saying "just the 4 of us". It was just as it should be.
We Loved CCC Christmas Eve service and then joining CCC and FBC Smyrna on Christmas Day. Delivering a gift box of food on Christmas Day really helped us focus on what the birth of Jesus means.
Some highlights of course was Noah waking up first saying "Hill look Santa came and he left a cookie". Our kind Noah as more excited about the bicycyle pump than his new bicycle and giving Phillip and I are gifts that he and Hill bought at AWANA. I am everyday amazed by his giving spirit.
We continued with our Jewish heritage by celebrating Hanukkah, ligthing our menorah each night and reflecting on the miracle of the Maccabees taking bake the temple from the King of Syria and the miracle of the oil. We talk about the Shamesh being the servant candle that serves as a light to the other candles just as Jesus is our light. It is amazing how every Jewish Holiday points clearly to our Jewish messiah.
We have been enjoying our time at home, having playdates, tackling new toys and our 500 piece star wars puzzle.
As you can see from the pics this was
another classic for our Santa photo Gallery.

Mommy is always listening!
We have several Party supply, Halloween, birthday catalogs and magazines, around the house. I have showed them to Noah and we have discussed our thoughts and ideas about themes for Hill's 2nd birthday.
Here is a conversation I overheard them having this afternoon
Noah "Hill look at this. what do you think? I know its hard to choose, it was hard for me to choose when I was your age"
Hill "eat...wawa...mommy,doah"
Noah "You can have trains, animals, or race cars or look you can have star wars, cars characters, dress up costumes, army guys. Look what about this one or this one.
Hill "doah, noah, brathur"
Noah "Hill I will help you decide you will like whatever you decide, I did when I was your age. right Mommmy?
Mommy "What are you boys chatting about?"
LOL
PRECIOUS PRECIOUS BROTHERS

My Athlete I mean Mathlete
By no means have I ever done math, do I do math or like math. I use a calculator, count on my fingers etc etc. I also try to be humble and not boast. But yes, when it come to my boys sometimes that's hard. As we are nearing the end of the 3rd week of Kindergarten I can not be prouder of Noah. He was assessed for readiness for 1st grade math and now visits another classroom for math where he does.... 1st grade math. Today's homework "draw an AB pattern". So glad I didnt have to know what that meant! Noah...my Mathlete

Favorite Things
Hill - saying " Addy, Daddy and Doah", books, balls, balls and more balls, clapping, dancing and singing to "mommy music class", any food, especially Pizza, grapes, yogurt, bananas, sausage, cheerios, "dip', playing his big brother's pinball machine, his baby Dandy, jumping or at least trying to jump, singing "I like Drums" and any song from "Annie", repeating everything Mommy, Daddy or Noah say, fav friend his big brother, according to his big brother, racing his brother in the house
Noah - Studion C3 (his class at church), riding his scooter, pinball, tortellini and pesto and PB&J (not at the same meal, that would be weird), Six Flags, Chuckee Cheese, snack and recess at Kindergarten, Genesis (book of the bible) Bible story - Adam and Even (surprisingly not Noah's Ark), his baby Smoochie, song "It's a Hard Knock Life" & "Blessed be your Name", the beach, surfing, waves, soccer, baseball, the Braves (Gwinnet Braves Minor League to be specific), mommy's au pairs, doing anything with Hill especially racing him in the house
more to come..........

I have a Kindergartener and a toddler
Over the summer I have worked in childcare with the itty bitty babies while their parents get to take an amazing parenting class. Today holding and loving on some sweet babies I realized I dont have a baby baby anymore. Of course Noah and Hill will always be my babies but I have a KINDERGARTNER and A TODDLER.
I am so proud of Noah he is a great student, friend, son and big brother. Recently in the mornings or after naps when Hill he will call "Daddy, Noah, (Doah) Addy and Mommy" In that order. After a few minutes Hill starts talking to himself and laughing and his calls for his brother get louder and more excitable. Noah is thrilled when he is allowed to the first to enter Hill's room. He swings open Hill's door and they play. Sometime for 30 minutes. Hill still in the crib and Noah on the other side giving him books and toys, reading to him. Sounds and sights or the boys giggling just being brothers, I can watch and listen to it endlessly.
The picture is of our Wild Adventures them cabin in Gatlinburg. There was some dancing and of course giggling go on.

Gatlinburg Trip
All of us (minus Hill rode this crazy slide) Mommy and Noah rode at least 3 times. I don't think those of us approaching 40 are supposed ride that thing over and over....but can't say no to sweet Noah sometimes.
Up the Hill with Noah
I did it!
I decided after almost 2 years of writing a daily blog for Noah and not writing 1 entry since Hill was born to start again. WHY? well Noah said something today that was just hysterical and all of my intentions to write what the boys do each day on my calendar hasnt been very successful. So I decided why not start another blog. Nothing fancy just what most moms want, to document the lives of their precious children.
Noah is day 6 into Kindergarten and Hill is 22 months (today he wore his shirt with a big # 1 on it) yes I am going to keep him 1 as long as I can.
From carpool today we headed to drop off at Divine Consign (if you are local you know what that is and if youre not it just doesnt matter). We passed the "Big Chicken" that famous landmark on Cobb Parkway. Noah pointed and said "look that birds eye and beak are moving". I responded "Noah do you know what that is called", expecting him to respond "I don't know or what". Noah says "that is a kinetic sculpture". I was embarassed to think that I was going to say that's "the Big Chicken". Apparently a kinetic sculpture is a sculpture that moves and well when you think about it, he is right. Anyway, that comment among so many other amazing things my boys do compelled me to start blogging. So....nothing fancy just what these incredible children do each day. And that to me is well beyond fancy!
